3. WebinarsWe are starting a series of Webinars which would be
seminar held online around areas of work that TEPL members are
researching and using in their professional learning practice. The
first webinar will be held on August
19th.
In this webinar Dr Keith Smyth (Edinburgh Napier University) will explore technology-enhanced approaches to staff development, and invite participants to discuss where we need to rethink current staff development provision, including Pg Certificates in Learning and Teaching, to encourage educators to engage critically and creatively with the place of technology-enhanced learning in the current HE landscape and their own teaching practice.
More information about the following webinar will be available on our TEPL website http://uk-sself.ning.com/
5. ORIOLE Survey
ORIOLE (Open Resources: Influence on Learners and Educators) (http://orioleproject.blogspot.com ) would like to hear from educators that create/use/reuse online resources (even if use is offline). They have launched an survey (see website above) and would appreciate your responses. The average time to complete the survey is 20 minutes and there is a charitable payback. Respondents are asked to select charities from a list, with the most popular three each receiving £100. So please try the survey and, if you are interested in open content and open educational resources, watch ORIOLE and spread the word. The survey ends on 26 May results of the survey will be disseminated from July. (Note that its not iPad or mobile friendly as it uses card sorts which for some devices render as massive grids, so seek out a bigger screen for this one).
5. TEPL Ning platform
The TEPL Ning platform is a space for us to discuss ideas, organise activities together, disseminate the results of our projects and form new collaborative ideas in addition to our face-to-face events.
